Inspirations and Contributions
This is Omar al-Khyyam, he is a great mathematician, the leading inspiration to Islamic Mathematics. He accomplished many great feats such as creating the Jalali Calendar which was far more accurate than the Gregorian calendar. The Jalali calendar had an error every 3770 days while the Gregorian had an error every 3330 days. He helped invent algebra along with is fellow mathematician al-Khwarizmi. They were not the only people though, the ancient greeks also helped although they weren't major contributors to the project. Omar was also an Astrophysicist and poet. He recited and wrote many revelations of poetry which were very famous and his greatest work in astrophysics and astrology was the creation of the Jalali Calendar.
